Each year Katrina and Andrew take off in search of warmer weather and new adventures. A bottle of A.T Shiraz is always packed and pops up in all kinds of unusual places.
This year AT Shiraz experienced some amazing places in the Ayre Peninsula and a quick stop on the way West into Fowlers Bay where it spent a few nights at Coorabie Farm enjoying country hospitality and a whale watching tour with EP Cruises.

Vintage started in early March with our Tempranillo being picked first, followed by Chardonnay, Riesling, Shiraz, Cabernet and the last variety being Viognier! Predominantly machine picked with some hand picking in the mix as well. We enlisted the help of our Niece and Nephew to help with some hand picking introducing them to all the glamour of vineyard work!
This year we experienced low yields, there were a number of reasons for this including, hungry kangaroos, poor fruit set in Spring, and because of such big crops in the previous year. Quality is all there and the 2022 vintage is already shaping up to be a cracker.

Alcohol: 12% Colour: Pale straw.
Bouquet: Subtle floral and lime notes.
Palate: Crisp, balanced and delicate palate of the typical Grampians citrus flavours with hints of honey, passionfruit and white peach are followed by a fine, persistent finish.
Vintage: A fantastic growing season and ripening period this wine is showing all the characteristics of a true cool climate Riesling.
Cellaring: Ready to drink now as a fresh young wine and will also age for a about 10 years.

– Kym Ludvigsen Best single vineyard wine of the show (super stoked to be able to win this in Kym’s honor again and this year from fruit from the vineyard he owned).

– Best Riesling
We recently entered our dog, Milo into the Top Dog – Wine Job Competition. His role is the official ‘Meet and Greeter’ which he is really good at. Milo truly believes that everyone that visits our property are there to see him. His only job is to greet people as they arrive at our Cellar Door, Bed and Breakfast or to do work on our vineyard. Guests are always greeted with a smile and a wag of the tail and sometimes a roll on his back for a belly rub. We think that Milo is pretty good at his job and he doesn’t ask for a lot in return, just some love.

AT certainly had some adventures, which we were very grateful to have been able to join him on. It is not lost on us how lucky we were to have this opportunity to get away for the 8 weeks when we did and be able to avoid all the chaos, hot spots and border closures.

On our return we were stocked to learn that our first ever rating with James Halliday gave us two solid scores for our AT Shiraz. Sadly our 2018 sold out before this announcement but the 2019 which scored a solid 92, is available and with the current 10% off lockdown sale it is a good opportunity to buy now.
