March and April has been crazy busy here at Miners Ridge. Vintage started in early March with our Tempranillo being picked first, followed by Chardonnay, Riesling, Shiraz, Cabernet and the last variety being Viognier! Predominantly machine picked with some hand picking in the mix as well. We enlisted the help of our Niece and Nephew to help with some hand picking introducing them to all the glamour of vineyard work!
This year we experienced low yields, there were a number of reasons for this including, hungry kangaroos, poor fruit set in Spring, and because of such big crops in the previous year. Quality is all there and the 2022 vintage is already shaping up to be a cracker.[Read more…] about Busy Busy Busy
