2021 AT Shiraz
Seriously peppery and seriously good. Black cherry, licorice and plum characters come rolled in sweet, woodsy, peppery spice, soy and fragrant herb notes tagging along for the ride. The length is sound and satisfying but the excitement here is all about the flavour profile. This is a beautiful wine.
2022 Merino Block Riesling
25g/L RS leaves a soft, mellifluous riesling with very good fruit intensity and length. This is where sheer deliciousness meets the ‘world of fine wine’ quality. It’s all apples and limes and, apart from anything else, drinking it is a great pleasure.
2021 Cabernet Sauvignon
Overt tobacco, leaf and peppercorn characters in the context fruit ripeness. It’s a fluid, juicy, built-on-acidity wine with its variety worn on its sleeve. Redcurrrant and boysenberry fruit flavours are the conduit for a whole lot of autumnal goodness.
2021 Viognier
Eight months in French oak has added a glossiness to the texture, along with woodsmoke and cedar flavours. This is a wine that walks the line between richness and freshness well, its generosity obvious but so too its restraint.
2021 Chardonnay
Pear and tinned-peach flavours flow amiably through the palate, with green apple notes as the backbone. It does its job well without screaming its quality at you. Quality of the fruit here, in intensity terms, is very good.
