Bouquet – Rich and intense flavours of blackberry, cassis with hints of black pepper and chocolate/ liquorice. Fruit flavours balanced by Long finish and fine tannins that will further integrate with age.
Palate – Peppery spice with red cherry and blueberry dominate with silky tannins that persist.
Vintage – A typical Grampians growing season. Warm summer and ideal ripening conditions. This wine is harvested from a select part of the MR shiraz block to showcase the best of the block.
Winemaking – FFermented in open fermenter, hand plunged and pressed as soon as the fermentation was dry, then aged in French barrels. With only 35 cases made each year this is a rare find.
This wine is drinking well now and should age for ten years or more.
